Tactical Buyer

A leading technology company is looking for a Tactical Buyer to support day-to-day procurement activities and ensure the timely availability of materials and components required for production.

About the Role

In this role, you will manage purchase orders, suppliers, deliveries, shortages, and material availability, working closely with Planning, Manufacturing, Logistics, and Supply Chain teams to support smooth and uninterrupted production.

Key Responsibilities

• Create and manage purchase orders from placement through delivery and receipt. • Follow up with suppliers, expedite critical orders, and proactively address delivery delays and material shortages. • Obtain quotations and evaluate suppliers based on cost, availability, and lead times. • Manage order changes, rescheduling, and supplier confirmations. • Maintain accurate purchasing information in the ERP system. • Monitor supplier performance and support negotiations on lead times and commercial terms. • Work closely with Planning, Logistics, Warehouse, Manufacturing, and Supply Chain teams to ensure material availability. • Provide ongoing visibility into shortages, supply risks, and recovery plans.

Requirements

• 3+ years of experience in Procurement / Tactical Buying. • Experience in a hardware company is required. • Hands-on experience managing suppliers and purchase orders within a manufacturing environment. • Experience working with ERP systems. • Strong understanding of procurement and supply chain processes. • Excellent supplier management, follow-up, negotiation, and expediting skills. • Highly organized, proactive, and able to manage multiple priorities in a fast-paced environment. • Fluent English, written and spoken.

Preferred Experience

• Experience in the optics and/or cabling industry is a significant advantage. • Experience working within a global supply chain environment. • Experience supporting high-mix, technology-driven manufacturing operations.
